How high should the center of door handle be.
Locate the lower right or left hand corner of the cabinet and measure up at least 2 inches.
Locks used only for security purposes and not used for normal operation are permitted at any height.
According to tim carter of ask the builder the proper height for drawer pulls and handles is approximately 2 to 3 inches from the lowest corner of the door.
Exceptions to the rule include doors that provide egress into swimming pools or other water features.
How far up on the stile you place the hardware is a matter of personal preference.
These federal regulations for door handle height state that door handles must be at least 48 inches from the floor level.
They must also be easy to operate with one hand without a tight grasp or a twisting of the wrist.
Installers typically drill the hole centered 36 inches above the floor if not specifically instructed to do so differently.
This makes it much easier to open.
Deadbolts are typically placed above the door handle anywhere from 48 to 70 inches from the ground.
The exception to this is when the height of a drawer front is greater than 12 in this case we recommend placing the hardware towards the top of the drawer front.
The height of drawer fronts vary but you can usually place your hardware in the center of your drawer front with most height ranges.
