Install Cupola Pitched Roof

Use an angle finder to measure the pitch of your hinge tool then position it against the cupola base.

Try to place the cupola over the roof rather than the gable ends which will have fewer beams to distribute the weight. Cut the opposite side of the base to match. Begin by measuring out the area on your pitched roof where you want the cupola to go. Make sure that this position is easy to reach by ladder and where the cupola will be supported by enough roof beams.

Shown is the cut base. Since roofs have all different pitch angles the manufacturer leaves it up to the installer that s you to cut it down to size. Step by step instructions for installing your cupola. If you have a steep roof greater than 9 12 pitch you may need to install an extended base.

Cut the cupola base to match your roof s pitch the base of your cupola comes square. There are three main sections. Recommended if a ridge vent is present then cut out your cupola base to fit around the ridge vent or remove the ridge vent where your cupola will sit and replace with cap shingles. Bring your angle finder off the roof to the cupola to be installed.
